Off the Shoulder Date Night

I love this dress! I snagged it the other week when Loft was having one of their amazing sales. I had no clue where I was going to wear it, but I knew I would find a reason!

My husband and I were able to sneak out for a quick dinner Sunday night for our anniversary. Our friends pretty much made us go out (we weren't going to celebrate). Usually for a random date night I question what I should wear, but not this time! This dress was perfect!

When It's Still Cold in April

So the weather has still be a little weird here in PA. One day it's eighty degrees, the next it's in the fifties and windy. It makes it hard to dress, that's for sure. It also makes it hard to blog-I know you all want to see spring outfits, but it makes it hard to get content for my blog when the weather doesn't cooperate. 

You see, I actually wear what I put on my blog. I don't just take pictures of me in an outfit for the sake of the blog like some bloggers do. (I'm not knocking that at all...to each his own!)

So when it's fifty degrees in April and you all are expecting spring outfits, it makes it hard to get dressed! First world problems, am I right?

My compromise this past weekend was tossing on this long cardigan with one of my favorite pairs of jeans and sandals. I felt like it was the perfect mix of spring-but-still-cold!

Casual Weekend Wear

Hope you all had a great weekend! Yesterday Ryan and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary! Hard to believe we have been married for 12 years...crazy! Looking back, we were just babies when we got married! Babies! 

If you follow me on instagram you may have seen my walk down memory lane while watching our wedding video....it was honestly so funny to watch. I of course cried though! Who wouldn't?!?!

We didn't have any plans at all-we were originally supposed to be in Charleston this weekend. My cousin Betsy (I've chatted about her before here) is going to be in Charleston this week performing, so we were going to make an anniversary trip out of it and go to see her. Needless to say, life, adulting, and budgeting got in the way and it didn't pan out. Total bummer, but what can you do?

Because we ended up not going away, we didn't really have big plans for this weekend, which was kind of nice, because we have some busy weekends over the next few months!

I wore this comfortable outfit out and about with Ryan and the girls over the weekend-there isn't anything groundbreaking about this look, but I loved combining the pastels of the cardigan, shoes and bag!

Easy Black Jersey Dress

When I find something that feels like I am wearing pajamas, I hold onto it. This dress being a prime example.

I added this to my closet last year around this time before I headed to LA and have work it so many times over the last year. It is so comfortable, and truly has become a closet staple. While this jersey dress is a babydoll style, any type of jersey dress is a must!

I wore this over the weekend when I just wanted to be comfortable-it was so easy to just throw on with a baseball hat and a pair of slip on sneakers!

Floral Easter Style

While we tend to not get too dressed up for holidays (we are a super casual family), it is fun to toss on a pretty dress and some heals. I mean, a holiday is the perfect excuse, is it not? 

I grabbed this dress at the end of last week when they were having their friends and family sale-I knew it would be perfect to dress up for Easter, but I love how it can also be dressed down with a cute pair of flat sandals and a denim jacket. I wore this dress to our Easter service on Saturday night...it was perfect! I made sure to snap some shots of how it can be dressed up and down-it's more versatile than you think!

If you have a lot of spring or summer weddings, showers, or even brunches, this is a great dress! It's flattering on a lot of body types, easy to move and breath in, and a really great length (I ended up with a petite and I am 5/4" for reference). Bandana Style

There's something I love about adding a simple scarf or bandana to an outfit. I feel like it's such an easy, low key, finishing touch. Something so small can really bring an outfit together and provide just the right finishing touch! 

I grabbed this red bandana out of the men's section at Target last year and have added it here and there to outfits for just a little something extra.

For this outfit, I think it brings the whoooooole look together! Without it, it would just be an 'eh' outfit!

Spring in Overalls

If you are on the fence about overalls let me tell you-get them! So many gals have told me they don't think they can pull them off because they are curvy-let me be proof that you can!

I have worn these so much over the last few months (seen here and here). Love dressing them up or down, although my favorite way to wear them is with a plain tee and a cute pair of sneakers! 

I haven't quite ventured to overall shorts-I am weird when it comes to shorts, so overall shorts is just something I am not quite sure about yet! I love them on other gals, though!

Target has some really cute overalls right now, and of course being from there they are totally affordable!

LA Outfit Roundup

I've been back from LA for about a week now and I feel like I am finally getting caught up with life!

I didn't even take my camera with me out there. My main focus was the photo shoot for Robyn Rhodes SS17 that I was the stylist for, and to be honest with you, I just wanted a little breather! It felt good to not have to worry about squeezing in a photo shoot (for myself) . So much easier to just snap a pic with my phone and call it a day!

Most of my outfits I wore in LA I have already shared with you, but there are a few I haven't yet! For some odd reason, I packed so light. My suitcase only weighed 20 lbs! I texted a pic of the scale to my husband- he couldn't believe it! I was so concerned I forgot something because of the low weight!
