Hollywood to Housewife: Orange and Pink

Yes....my orange pants are making an appearance for the second time this week. They are just that awesome!

Welcome to week five of Hollywood to Housewife, where I find a picture of a celebrity in an outfit I love (the "Hollywood"), and make it my own using pieces in my closet (the "Housewife"), and without making any new purchases.

This week I wanted something a little bright, springy, if you will. Appropriate for the season! What I love about Heidi Klum's outfit is the unexpected combination of colors. Most wouldn't pair pink and orange together, but for some reason it just works. Its nice to think outside of the box sometimes and pair something together that you normally wouldn't! (I saw this picture in a magazine as well, and although they look somewhat red in the picture below...I swear they are orange!)

I wasn't quite sure about the pink shoes AND the pink shirt, because I am not one to be "matchy matchy," like if I wear leopard shoes I won't wear a leopard scarf. But, my husband reminded me of the point of Hollywood to Housewife, so thus...I wore pink shoes. (and yes, my husband was involved in this post, more than just taking the pics!) I also didn't have a pink purse, so I thought the gold clutch was a good compliment! I also loved that she kept her accessories to a minimum. It added to the simplicity of the look. And I have a feeling in real life I probably would only go up to Heidi's shoulders...

And just because....

Don't be surprised if you see these orange pants again. And again. They are just that awesome. I highly suggest you head to Target and get them!

Bright Orange Pants and Polka Dots!

Nothing like a bright pair of pants and polka dots to brighten your day, right? You really can't go wrong with polka dots. Or orange pants. And it wasn't until later in the day I realized I was dressed head to toe in Target! It doesn't surprise me though!

Aren't these bracelets adorable? I bought them initially for my daughters Ella and Charlotte. But even cuter, is on the side of each letter they have an engraved word- for the E: energy. For the C: confidant. How cute?!?!

Shirt: Target /// Pants: Target /// Shoes: Target /// Bracelets: TargetCollage Shop /// Sunglasses: Old Navy

Love the pop of color, right? Linking up today with Shanna and The Pleated Poppy

Happy Wednesday!

My Fave New Spring Bag and my What She Wears Linkup Winner!

At the change of each season (and several times throughout each season) I like to go on a quest for the perfect bag. I know I have chatted on this little blog of mine before about Blair Ritchey and her gorgeous handmade handbags. She makes each of her items and you can definitely tell her attention to detail when you see them.

I have had the cobalt blue Mini Lulu for a while now and have used it a good bit. I keep it in my purse all the time to hold little incidentals like lipstick, then sometimes, like below, I use it as a clutch. One of my favorite looks with it is here...

So, when I saw that she came out with a Going to Market Tote I knew I had to have it for the spring/summer! Its made from a sturdy cotton canvas and is accented with royal blue piping. The detail in the rope handles just adds to the list of reasons I had to have it!

And I figured, while I was browsing, I might as well purchase a wallet in fuchsia...why not?

Her packaging is top notch. It really is. From the shipping label with her logo to the sticker holding the tissue paper together, to the hand written note she includes, its just so cute. Aren't packages way more fun to open when they are cutely done?

I wasted absolutely no time taking it out of the box to use it...it hasn't left my side yet!

Doesn't the fuchsia wallet compliment the tote perfectly?

The adorable Going to Market screen print.

The rope handles...the rope handles!! Just love them!

If you are in the market for a new bag for the season you have got to check out Blair's collection. With her handmade quality and attention to detail you will be hooked, and it will be so worth it!

Now on last week's What She Wear's linkup! Thank you to those who linked up with us for your date night look! I loved all of the entries, but I have to say, my absolute favorite look, my "winner" was.....

Becky from Cella Jane

Where do I begin with this look? From her statement necklace to her shoes, I would wear every last piece. I love the look of pairing edgy heels with boyfriend jeans. And a statement necklace? You can't go wrong with that, can you? Becky is definitely a stylish fashionista who has impeccable style, which is obvious in her date night look above! Can't wait to see what else she puts together! Not to mention...she is absolutely gorgeous!

So lets talk about next month's theme! Drum roll please..............

Maxi skirts/dresses!!

So head to your closet and grab your favorite maxi skirt or dress, style it up and link up the first Tuesday in June with DawnelleCourtneyKaleighMeagan and myself! Don't worry...we will remind the crap out of you so you don't forget!

Mother's Day Outfit and the Week Ahead!

Hope you all had an awesome Mother's Day. I think I had my best one yet. Ella is old enough now where she "gets it" and contributes which is so dear. Plus, with the addition of Charlotte, it added to how special the day was!

I got the sweetest card from Ella and a bracelet she made me! The funniest part was that she said she included red beads because "its like fire, and you like fire places." Who knew?!?! :)

Love my family!! I bought Ryan this shirt when I was pregnant with Ella as a joke and he actually wears it :)

On to my Mother's Day outfit!!
I found this shirt at Old Navy and absolutely loved it! What I loved about it is that it is sleeveless so it will be perfect for this summer!! Plus, I broke out my open toe clogs...love them. I usually only wear them in the spring or early fall, and typically with just jeans! They are perfect paired with boot cut jeans (which personally, I think are the perfect cut jean for all body types. Instantly slimming!)

Outfit Details:
Shirt: Old Navy /// Jacket: Target /// Jeans: Old Navy /// Shoes: Target (similar) /// Bracelets: Stella and Dot

Hope you all had a great weekend and the Mothers out there had a great day yesterday!

Here is what I have on tap for this week....

I'll be chatting about the perfect spring and summer bag AND announcing who I picked as the winner for the first What She Wears linkup! I'll of course do an outfit post including a recent purchase that I couldn't resist (which is pretty much everything when I go shopping!). I'll also include this week's Hollywood to Housewife edition!

How to Style: Hollywood to Housewife (and the Cutest Old Man Ever)

Welcome to week four of Hollywood to Housewife, where I find a picture of a celebrity in an outfit I love (the "Hollywood"), and make it my own using pieces in my closet (the "Housewife"), and without making any new purchases.

Tiffani Amber Thiessen has always had good style...even back in her Saved by the Bell day's. I loved her outfits. I wanted nothing more than to wear those tight dresses and Keds every day of my life!! Plus, I think she is gorgeous.

I love the look of a classic T and a blazer so I was immediately drawn to this. There is one thing though- I am so not a Belieber. Not a fan of the Biebs whatsoever. If fact, I am almost certain I could kick his rear if I had to.
I remembered though that my husband had this Johnny Cash shirt. He purchased it before we found out Charlotte was a girl. He was hell bent on the name Cash if it were a boy, so as soon as he saw this shirt at H & M he bought it. (thank goodness we had a girl. Cash is good for a middle name, but not a first name!) And thank goodness he bought the shirt, because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to recreate Tiffani's look! At one point in the day, I even changed out of my nude heels into my nude flats and the outfit looked just as cute!

I feel like I say this every week, but this is close to my favorite. I feel like blazers and t shirts are one of my go-to outfits. Don't know what to wear today? Toss on a blazer and t. Can't go wrong with it!

Outfit Details:
Jeans: Old Navy /// Blazer: Target  /// Pumps: Aldo ///   Shirt: H&M similar /// Purse: Target similar /// Bracelets: TargetStella and Dot

I love the tortoise detail of the clasp on this bag as well as the chain link in the strap...isn't it so cute? And to think it was on sale at Target for only $11!!

While I love blogging, the picture taking part is not my favorite. I am especially still uncomfortable with taking the pictures myself. I usually find a secluded or somewhat secluded area to set up my tripod and snap some pics. I just get paranoid when people are around. I can't get past the fact that they could be looking at me like "what the heck is she doing?" So when I found the side of an awesome industrial, warehouse looking building I was excited. Not long into taking my pics, a truck pulls up and the cutest old man gets out.

I immediately apologized for being in his way. I panic out of embarrassment and blurt out that I am just doing an assignment for my photography class where I have to take pictures of myself. I mean, that makes more sense than explaining I am a fashion blogger, right? He tells me not to worry and asks me if he can help. I of course continue to lie and tell him that it would be cheating on my assignment if he helped and that I have to do it myself, but thank you. He went into the building to get what he needed and came back outside and offered to help again. Then the cutest thing ever- he walked a few feet to the side of the building and said "miss can I show you something for a second?" I walked over and he said- "I think you should take some pictures over here because I think having the arch in the background there would make some really great pictures don't you think?" I thanked him and said I think they would be great pictures and I would definitely do it. He walked over to his car and as he got in I heard him say to his co workers "She liked it! She liked what I said! She liked it!" How cute is that? Seriously adorable! Thanks Old Man River for giving me a smile today!

Anyway, that was the longest story ever about how I feel awkward taking pictures of myself, how apparently I can lie well and quickly, and how old people are just so cute.

Have a great weekend everyone, and see you back here for next week's Hollywood to Housewife. If you see a picture of a celeb, or a certain outfit you would like me to recreate, shoot me an email: rebecca1182@gmail.com and I will take a look!
