Many years ago if you would have told me I would pair brown and black together I would have called you a liar. I couldn't stand to see brown and black together in the same outfit. To me that was a definite faux pas. Now, I love it. I don't know what it is, but its an awesome, unlikely duo!
So I posted last Wednesday (which in blog years is an eternity) about how I was going to attempt to pack lightly for my Thanksgiving getaway to my parents and I totally followed through. Here was my Thanksgiving attire that I put together ahead of time...
And ta-da! I actually packed it and wore it! Yay for me! That never happens. Ever. Never.
Sweater: Target
White T: Target
Leggings: Target
Boots: Target
Necklace: Stella and Dot
Watch: La Mer
Bracelets: Stella and Dot
Shades: Target
Purse: Francesca's Collections
Can you tell I love Target? This outfit turned out to be perfect for the occasion. Leggings so I had room to grow while feasting with my family...casual chic as I like to say.
Isn't it amazing how style evolves over time? Are there any styles or trends that you thought you would never ever try but now love? Pairing brown and black is one for me. Who woulda thought?!?
Linking up today with YOLO and Covered in Grace today!!!

Totally cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the bag!

Thanks! I was torn between this color of the bag or green! Wish I could have gotten both!!
DeleteI am right there with you! I couldn't even begin to think black & brown belonged in the same outfit. Well leopard print proved me wrong and I haven't looked back! Love your look.

Leopard print is an obsession of mine! It goes with everything!!
DeleteI'm totally with you. Even 6 months ago I never would have put black and brown together....now I can't get enough!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pinterest! :)
Isn't it amazing how in such short times our tastes change and how something like Pinterest can change them? :)
DeleteYour outfit turned out great!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks gal :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYay, your outfit turned out great! I also used to hate black & brown together, but now I feel like it looks so chic.

Thank you!! And it was SO comfy for the day too. I can't imagine wearing snug jeans for Thanksgiving!! Haha!
DeleteYour outfit is adorable! Love it. And who doesn't love Target? They have been nailing it lately with their clothing.
ReplyDeleteYes they have. And my Target has groceries too so its really hard to NOT browse the clothing section when I am there for bread or some other grocery!
DeleteHi! Thanks for visiting my blog (B'more Girlie), and I can't wait to start following you. And let me start off by saying Thank You! for posting about the black w/brown. For some reason I've never been able to make that leap, but it looks adorable on you! :) By the way, LOVE the necklace.
ReplyDeleteTake the leap!! Its worth it! :) Thanks for stopping! Isn't the necklace great? Its from Stella and Dot's holiday collections. It goes with everything!!
DeleteJust found your blog from another blog I love to follow...and I'm glad I did! I love pairing brown with black (actually wore a black ensemble with cognac details for Thanksgiving myself!). I also really love mustard yellow with cool colors like blue and purple. I'm usually a neutral fanatic so that is a off beat combo for me, but I'm smitten!

Thank you!! I tend to stick with neutrals too or at least gravitate towards them so I do try sometimes to incorporate more color...neutrals are just so easy!
DeletePS- LOVE your blog :)
DeleteSuch a lovely outfit! you look amazing!
